St Leonard's Forest

St Leonard's Forest is located east of Horsham in West Sussex and is part of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. According to legend, a French hermit lived in the forest in the sixth century and fought a dragon here. The forest is open 24 hours, 365 days a year with no entry fee. The Friends of St Leonard's Forest work with Gatwick Greenspace to restore and manage heathland within the forest.
