Godshill Inclosure
Godshill Inclosure is a woodland area in the New Forest National Park, located near Woodgreen in west Hampshire, approximately 1.5 miles east of Fordingbridge. It comprises mixed woodland with areas of managed mixed woodland, managed non-native woodland, and managed native woodland alongside open heathland habitats.

Wildlife
Bird species include Cuckoo, Woodcock, Dartford Warbler, Firecrest, Wood Warbler, Stock Dove, Lesser Spotted Woodpecker, Woodlark and Tree Pipit. Visitors stand a good chance of spotting deer as well as falcons and other birds of prey. Plenty of New Forest ponies and cattle freely roam.
History
Contains a lovely pool which is the remains of one of the old bomb craters, as well as an old firing range.

Highly recommended for anyone needing to get out and be surrounded by nature. Definitely wear walking boots/wellies where it's very boggy/muddy but still great fun to walk around. It massively helped me today where I've been recovering from being so overloaded/overwhelmed recently. Really tranquil and beautiful to listen to & identify various bird species too. The New Forest is always a beautiful place to visit 💚
I found Godshill Inclosure by accident and so glad I did. It's a beautiful spot for a picnic. There are also some lovely walks to be had in the woods. Parking is easy. Entrance and parking are free. Dogs should be kept under control, ideally on a lead as there are New Forest ponies around. The ground is fairly even if you have mobility issues. But please note there are no public toilets. Just remember not to pet or feed the ponies and donkeys that roam freely in the New Forest
There are two elements to this area, firstly the enclosure. Good parking with no charge, generally all the walking areas are quite flat. The woods encompass a wide range of wildlife with various routes to take. It is quite easy to lose your bearings but Google maps works quite well to guide you back to the carpark. Just outside of the carpark is a great area for a picnic. The second place to go is to the viewing point, this looks out over the countryside with a spectacular view.
