Ancient woodland nature reserve managed by Kent Wildlife Trust, covering 29 hectares. Located atop the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with grassland valleys on one side and Forestry England woodland on the other.

Open all year. Best time to visit is April–June.
Best for
Spring woodland flowers (April–June). Walking through ancient woodland with steep paths. Adjacent Forestry England woodland offers more accessible hard stone surface tracks.
Wildlife
Spring brings bluebells, wood anemones, dogs mercury, and other woodland flowers. Chalk woodland orchids present in the reserve. Kent Wildlife Trust investigating ways to reintroduce grazing to the landscape.
History
Purchased by Kent Wildlife Trust in 2023. Ancient woodland with long history.

Mixed woodland. Some nice walks. Paths can get very muddy. Some areas are brilliant for orchids, including early purple, lady orchids, and violet helleborines.
Nice woods. Lots of cyclists & dog walkers in the mornings. One in the woods it's lovely
Very good for Walking and Dog walking. Ok for Mountain bike but not very long trails.
