Chepstow Park Wood
Chepstow Park Wood covers over 900 acres west of Chepstow and is managed by Natural Resources Wales. Originally used by the Lords of Chepstow Castle in the 13th and 14th centuries as a hunting forest, it was enclosed by a stone wall in the 1630s and was the only known deer course in Wales. The wood offers great views over the Severn estuary, including the Severn Bridges and Chepstow Racecourse. A network of footpaths leads through the woodland, with a main 4-mile walk along forest tracks. Archaeological features include ruins of a moated hunting lodge and a prehistoric cairn.

Reviews
Beautiful woodland in the Wye Valley. At the moment (March 2026) a lot of the pathways are actually closed due to landscape works. The notice states this is expected to last until June 2026. You have to use the Chepstow Park Wood car park - the access from Devauden is not accessible at the moment until the works are finished.
An ideal walk with many different routes, wide tracks fir an easy walk and plenty of trails through the woods for a more adventurous walk.
Great park to jog, walk or mountain bike around. Very big, loads of paths to choose from.
